For management of weight loss in cats with chronic kidney disease.
Possible Side Effects
Owners should be advised that ELURA mimics the action of a naturally-occurring hormonecalled ghrelin. Ghrelin influences many systems in the body. ELURA may also affect thesesystems. Owners should monitor for changes in: thirst or water intake; lethargy or weakness;digestive issues (vomiting, diarrhea, drooling, decreased appetite); or behaviors
Drug & Food Interactions
ELURA should not be used in cats that have a hypersensitivity to capromorelin.
Precautions
Not for use in humans. For oral use in cats only. Keep this and all medications out of reach of childrenand pets. Do not use in cats that are allergic to capromorelin or in cats that have an excess of growthhormone. Elura has not been studied in cats with diabetes and use may not be appropriate. Use withcaution in cats that may have heart disease, severe dehydration, or liver problems. The safe use of Elurahas not been evaluated in cats younger than 5 months old, cats that are pregnant, lactating or intendedfor breeding. The most common adverse reactions included vomiting, hypersalivation, loss of appetite,behavior change and tiredness.
